The hallmark of Tufts is a liberal arts education with an emphasis on critical-thinking skills, leadership development, entrepreneurism, and civic responsibility. A variety of student organizations thrive on campus, linking undergraduates to a complex industry that often overlooks liberal arts institutions as natural sources of talent.

Alumni are invited to serve as mentors, guest presenters, or advisors to any of the following student organizations:

  • The Tufts Financial Group (TFG) is a student-run organization that actively manages a real portfolio of investments called the Alpha Fund for the benefit of the school. The Alpha Fund has more than $145K under student management.
  • The Tufts chapter of the national organization 180 Degrees Consulting and the Tufts Consulting Collective consult with local non-profits and for-profits to help them improve their business models.
  • The Tufts Entrepreneurs Society brings in speakers from start-ups, tech firms, and other entrepreneurial enterprises.
  • The Tufts Economics Society sponsors talks on finance, business, and general economics. The group promotes student interaction with faculty outside the classroom, and provides career information and networking opportunities.
  • The Tufts Trading Fund helps students learn about macro investing in Indices, Commodities, and Foreign Exchange Markets, and provides mentoring, network building, and career prep to members to set the pathway for future careers in the financial industry.
