Join the Tufts Financial Network for its annual women’s event on Tuesday, April 19 at 5:00 p.m. (ET) for a conversation with Rachel Kyte, dean of The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Rachel is a world-renowned climate expert and the first woman to lead The Fletcher School. She will be hosted by Diana Villarnovo Lopez, J78, A25P, Tufts University Trustee and Senior Advisor to the Administrator at the Federal Railroad Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
At the event, Rachel will speak about how the consequences of a warming planet will affect us all. The coming crisis will not be confined to certain parts of the world or to certain sectors of the economy. Whether identifying how best to invest capital, which development projects should be financed, or how to design energy-efficient workspaces, leaders in business and finance must understand how to prepare for and mitigate climate change-related risks. She will share reflections on how the climate imperative increasingly informs decisions and how today’s business and finance professionals must shape their strategic thinking in the context of our new reality.
In addition to her leadership at Tufts, Rachel currently serves as a top climate advisor to the UN secretary-general, as Co-Chair of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), and as an advisor to the UK presidency of the UN climate talks. She also advises various investors, governments, and non-profits on matters related to climate, energy, and sustainable development.
As time allows, Rachel will address questions from the audience. All members of the Tufts community are welcome to attend.
This event is co-sponsored by The Fletcher Women’s Network.
